2010 Indians 27th Round Pick: OF Jeff Shaus

In the 27th round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians have selected OF Jeff Shaus out of Clemson University.

Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 DOB: 04/27/1989 Bats: Left Throws: Right

Signing Update (June 13): Shaus is disappointed that he slid as far down in the draft as he did and sounds like he may return to Clemson for his senior season.

Rank:
PGCrosschecker: 248

Jeff Ellis: The Indians keep taking big time talents, this time in the 27th round with outfielder Jeff Schaus out of Clemson. He was the 810th player chosen, but PGCrosschecker has him rated in the top 250. At that point to me that is still getting a major talent late. Schaus is best with the bat, and it’s his ability to hit that got him drafted. He hit for power and average in college and played better than teammate and early pick Kyle Parker. He has had double digit home runs most years and walks more than he strikes out. He is not a great athlete, but he sure knows how to hit the ball. He might actually compare favorably to current Indians farm hand Jordan Brown.
