2010 Indians 22nd Round Pick: RHP Nathan Striz

In the 22nd round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians have selected RHP Nathan Striz out of the University of North Carolina.

Height: 6'2" Weight: 230 DOB: 10/15/1988 Bats: Right Throws: Right

Jeff Ellis: Nathan Striz is a well built righty who has played for one of the top programs in the country at UNC. He was drafted in the 5th round by the Twins out of high school and was a top 100 prospect that year according to Baseball America. He sits in the low 90’s with his fastball and it has some sink but is not quite a sinker. He also has a changeup and a slider, with the change up being the better of the two. Striz has spent a lot of time in the pen for UNC and that might be where he ends up in the pros. He is a very interesting selection because of how highly he was thought of coming out of high school, and with a three pitch mix he could be a very solid reliever.
