In the 42nd round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians have selected 2B Aaron Fields out of Wright State University (MI).

Signing Update (June 13): Fields has signed with the Indians and will be reporting to Youngstown where he will join up with his Mahoning Valley teammates this week.

Quick Hit: Fields is a solid defender at second base and is one of the few college seniors the Indians have taken this year. He likely was picked as depth to round out the Mahoning Valley roster. He could be a quick signing and be with the team when their season opens late next week. He is also the son of current Indians minor league hitting coordinator Bruce Fields. In 49 games this season he hit .327 with 4 HR and 37 RBI. He hit over .300 in each of the last three seasons, and in his career had 220 hits, 96 RBI and 22 stolen bases.
