N. Hagadone

Around the Farm takes a quick look at some of yesterday's performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday's game.

Nick Hagadone-RP, Columbus: W (4-1), 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K

A bounce back performance for Nick Hagadone after giving up a pair of runs off four hits a few days ago. Hagadone threw three scoreless and punched out three. He now has 37 strikeouts in 34 Triple-A innings. The former Huskie survived the trade deadline and is still a member of the Indians organization and could be a big help as a September call up in a month. Hagadone put together his best month as a reliever for the Clippers, giving up just three earned runs in 15 innings of work. He struck out 19 and walked just three.

• Cord Phelps-2B, Columbus: 2-for-5, 1 R, HR, RBI, BB: Cord Phelps hit his ninth home run of the year and caps off a timid July with a .280 average but a .375 on-base percentage.
• Jerad Head-LF, Columbus: 1-for-6, 1 R, HR, 2 RBI: Jerad Head has busted out of his slump in a big way. He has five hits in his past three games, two of them home runs.
• Jared Goedert-3B, Colummbus: 1-for-3, 2 R, HR, RBI, 3 BB: Goedert is back with a vengeance. Like Head, two straight games with a home run for Goedert, who has a .381 OBP in the past ten games.
• Justin Germano-SP, Columbus:: 4.2, 11 H, 5 R, 0 BB, 4 K: After throwing a perfect game earlier this week, Justin Germano took the mound and, well, he was far from perfect. Germano gave up five runs off 11 hits. He didn't walk a hitter though.
• Zach Putnam-RP, Columbus: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K: Steven Zachary Putnam has been up and down as of late, and he capped off a rocky July with two scoreless frames. He finishes the month 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA, his worst month of the year.
• Michel Hernandez-C, Akron: 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB: Not a good weekend for the Aeros offensively. Re-added after the big trade to replace Matt McBride, Michel Hernandez was on base three times on Sunday.
• T.J. McFarland-SP, Akron: 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 5 K: Not the best game ever, but certainly an effort that looks a little better with some run support. McFarland has given up no more than four runs his past ten starts and finishes July with a 3.22 ERA in six starts.
• Bryce Stowell-RP, Akron: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K: Stowell Dominance. The hard-throwing right-hander bounced back from a small hiccup and struck out three hitters in two perfect frames.
• Jordan Casas-LF, Kinston: 2-for-3, 1 RBI: Casas has the only RBI in the game for the K-Tribe. After a 0-for-3 debut, Casas has five hits in the past two games.
• Brett Brach-SP, Kinston: L (6-8), 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R (2 ER), 1 BB, 4 K: Perhaps with Drew Pomeranz traded and a spot in the Akron rotation option, Brett Brach could be in-line for a promotion. The right-hander from New Jersey took the loss, but put in a quality start after having a rough start his last time out.
• Carlos Moncrief-RF, Lake County: 1-for-4, 1 R, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 2 K: Mr. Triple, Carlos Moncrief hit his seventh of the season and it gave him his 42nd extra-base hit this season. Moncrief has struck out a lot, but still has a good .351 on-base percentage.
• Giovanny Urshela-3B, Lake County: 2-for-4, 1 R, 2 2B, 1 BB: Some gap power from Urshela that would expect out of the third baseman. He now has four straight games of at least two hits and six of his last 10.
• Brian Heere-LF, Lake County: 3-for-5, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 2 K: Heere had his best month of the season after playing the most games he has all season. He capped off a .347 month with three hits and his 13 RBI in July are nearly half of his season total.
• Cole Cook-SP, Lake County: L (5-11), 4 IP, 6 H, 7 R (5 ER), 5 BB, 2 K: A rough outing for Cook, who walked at least four runners for the third time in his last 10 starts the past two months. It was an inconsistent July for Cook, but by far his best of the season as he finishes with a 3.94 ERA in six starts. He was an inning shy of his season total but he did give up six home runs..
• Cody Elliot-CF, Mahoning Valley: 0-for-3, 1 RBI: The only run knocked in of the game came off a Elliot sac-fly in the eighth inning. 
• Danny Jimenez-SP, Mahoning Valley: 6.2 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K: He didn't pick up the win, but another great start for Danny Jimenez, who seems to have gotten over his rough stretch. Jimenez is back starting and on track, pitching into the seventh inning on Sunday.
• Cody Allen-RP, Mahoning Valley: W (3-1), 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K: Cody Elliot knocked in the run and Cody Allen picked up the win after pitching two-plus scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
