2011 Indians 26th Round Pick: OF Austin Diemer

Photo: Placer Herald
In the 26th round of the 2011 Draft the Indians select outfielder Austin Diemer out of Rocklin High School (CA).

Bats: Right, Throws: Right, Height: 6'1", Weight: 180, Date of Birth: 04/28/1993

Note: Diemer was hitting .415, with 18 RBI and 25 steals prior to the playoffs this year. He's believed to have plus power as well.

Jeff Ellis: The Indians are on a little run taking prep bats from California as this makes three in a row. This time its Austin Diemer who is a center fielder, and without looking I am going to bet an athlete. He is not one of the bigger names in this draft, but he is committed to Cal State Fullerton. He hit .415 this year, and based on the video I saw it looks like he has a very strong arm. He also has excellent speed stealing 26 bases this year. So based on everything I found he has a plus arm, plus speed, and possible plus bat. He is yet another prep athlete, which seems to be the Indians target in the 20’s. It will be fun to see how many of these guys they are actually able to sign.
