2011 Indians 29th Round Pick: RHP Jared Ruxer

In the 29th round of the 2011 Draft the Indians select right-handed pitcher Jared Ruxer out of Lawrence Central High School (IN).

Bats: Right, Throws: Right, Height: 6'3", Weight: 190, Date of Birth: 07/29/1992

Note: Ruxer has a fastball that sits from 89-91, and tops out at 93. He has a decent curve and change.

Jeff Ellis: Jared Ruxer is prep right hander with nice size at 6’3” 185. He topped out at 93 this year, but there is no reason he can’t add more velocity. He is committed to Louisville. He will be a tough sign as he is a good student and has former teammates on the Louisville team. His fastball already shows very good movement. He has a great frame with a steady delivery. His best off speed pitch is his changeup, and he also has a slider which needs a lot of work. He is a guy scouts look at and just drool over the amount of velocity he could add as he could end up throwing in the mid 90’s. He has to work on his off speed pitches, and just continue to grow, but he is an interesting player at this point in the draft.
